This program offers Aboriginal men and male youth safe, supportive housing and a culture-based learning environment to develop the skills they need to succeed as strong, self-confident, and self-sufficient men in the broader urban environment.

Sagatay is located at 26 Vaughan Road near St. Clair Avenue West and Bathurst Street in Toronto. It provides accommodation for 25 residents in 15 single and 5 double-occupancy self-contained units. There is a communal kitchen and gathering place, classrooms, and a sweat lodge available for the residents’ use. Residents may participate in the program for up to one year and are expected to actively work with staff toward achieving the goals identified in their personal care plan.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Indigenous men 18 years and older with stable addiction and/or mental health issues
  • Ability to identify long and short term goals and commit to program policies
